Switch to the Scheme - How to transfer

For employee member

You may elect to transfer from your MPF contribution account the accrued benefits (i.e. the accumulated contributions and investment returns) derived from your mandatory contributions made during current employment to personal account in the Scheme or to another registered scheme. Such transfers can be carried out on a lump-sum basis once every calendar year (i.e. from January 1st to December 31st of each year).

In addition, you can transfer the accrued benefits derived from mandatory contributions relating to your former employment or self-employment to your contribution account under current employment, you can also transfer those accrued benefits on a lump-sum basis to another account in the Scheme or to another registered scheme at any time.

If you wish, during your employment, to transfer the aforesaid eligible part(s) of your accrued benefits: 

· First of all, you need to set up a personal account in the registered scheme of the new trustee to effect the transfer of the eligible part(s) of your accrued benefits, if you currently do not have in the registered scheme of the new trustee any personal account or contribution account.

· To effect a transfer of the eligible part(s) of your accrued benefits from another registered scheme to the Scheme and if you do not have any contribution account or personal account with us, please complete the "Scheme Application Form for Personal Account" and the "Employee Choice Arrangement ("ECA") – Transfer Election Form" (FORM MPF(S)-P(P)) and send them to us together with a copy of your HKID and residential address proof to set up a personal account in the Scheme. Scheme documents will then be sent to you within 30 calendar days after your submission of all information required for your participation in the Scheme.

· To effect a transfer of the eligible part(s) of your accrued benefits from another registered scheme to the Scheme and if you are holding a current contribution account or personal account with us, please complete and return the "Employee Choice Arrangement ("ECA") – Transfer Election Form" (FORM MPF(S)-P(P)) to us to effect the transfer.

· To effect a transfer the eligible part(s) of your accrued benefits from the Scheme to another registered scheme, please complete and submit the "Employee Choice Arrangement ("ECA") – Transfer Election Form" (FORM MPF(S)-P(P)) to the trustee of that registered scheme.

· According to the governing rules of the Scheme, you may also elect to transfer the accrued benefits derived from any regular voluntary contributions when ceasing your employment to a personal account or another contribution account in the Scheme or to another registered scheme.

· To avoid delay in the fund transfer process due to incomplete or incorrect information, please clearly state the relevant scheme numbers of the original trustee and the new trustee in the fund transfer form and sign with a correct signature.

· The new trustee will arrange for the transfer of the eligible part(s) of accrued benefits with the original trustee upon receipt of the completed form. In general, the transfer will be completed within 30 calendar days after the new trustee receives all the information required for the transfer of your accrued benefits.

· Upon receipt of the cheque and the details of the transferred asset from the original trustee, the new trustee will issue a Transfer-In Statement to you to confirm that the transfer process is completed.

· If the Company receives more than one election forms concurrently from you during any one calendar year, the Company will process the transfer forms with complete information or documents first ascertained by it.

For self-employed person, personal account holder or employee on ceasing employment

If you wish to transfer your accrued benefits to a personal account or another contribution account in the Scheme, or to another registered scheme:

· First of all, you need to set up a personal account in the registered scheme of the new trustee to effect the transfer of your accrued benefits, if you currently do not have in the registered scheme of the new trustee any personal account or contribution account or self-employed person account (as the case may be).

· To effect a transfer of accrued benefits from another registered scheme to the Scheme and if you do not have any contribution account or personal account or self-employed person account (as the case may be) with us, please complete the relevant Scheme Application Form and the “Scheme Member’s Request for Fund Transfer Form” (FORM MPF(S)-P(M)) and send them to us together with a copy of your HKID and residential address proof to set up a relevant account in the Scheme.

· To effect a transfer of the accrued benefits from another registered scheme to the Scheme and if you are holding a current contribution account or personal account or self-employed person account (as the case may be) with us, simply complete and return the "Scheme Member's Request for Fund Transfer Form" (FORM MPF(S)-P(M)) to us to effect the transfer.

· To effect a transfer of accrued benefits from a contribution account or self-employed person account to a personal account within the Scheme or from the Scheme to another registered scheme, please complete and return the "Scheme Member's Request for Fund Transfer Form" (FORM MPF(S)-P(M)) to us.

· To avoid delay in the fund transfer process due to incomplete or incorrect information, please clearly state the relevant scheme numbers of the original trustee and the new trustee in the fund transfer form and sign with a correct signature.

· The new trustee will arrange for the transfer of the eligible part(s) of accrued benefits with the original trustee upon receipt of the completed form. In general, the transfer will be completed within 30 calendar days after the new trustee receives all information required for the transfer of your accrued benefits.
