YF Life Cares for the Community and Donates Hand Sanitizers to Visually Impaired

February 20, 2020

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 the market has seen a shortage of hygiene supplies and such shortages are having a greater impact on visually impaired people in the city because they rely on their hands to measure spatial distance and to read Braille in public facilities every day. Expressing concern about this situation, YF Life Insurance International Ltd. (YF Life) today announced a donation of hand sanitizers to the visually impaired to show its care for the community.

Through referral by the Community Chest of Hong Kong (CCHK), the donation has benefited members of Pentecostal Holiness Church Ling Kwong Bradbury Centre for the Blind; Hong Kong Society for the Blind; Shek Kip Mei Lutheran Centre for the Blind, Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service; and Cheung Ching Lutheran Centre for the Disabled, Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service, all of which are member agencies of CCHK dedicated to serve the visually impaired. The donation aims to relieve the pressing need faced by their members.

In the face of the epidemic, YF Life does not only respond with enhanced protection for its customers but also strives to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. Ms. Jeanne Sau, Chief Marketing Officer of YF Life, said, "Under the threat of COVID-19, precautions are important, especially for the visually impaired. For this reason we are donating the hand sanitizers to them in the hope that it will serve as their first step in safeguarding their health by taking precautions against the virus. We are all in the same boat when it comes to the threat of epidemic, but as long as we work together and hold on to the belief that we ‘own the future’, our lives will soon be back on the right track.”
