YF Life Title Sponsors The “YF Life.Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion”
at The 10th China Flower Expo

May 21, 2021

Today marks the official launch of the 10th China Flower Expo in Chongming, Shanghai. YF Life Insurance International Limited (YF Life) is participating in this quadrennial event as the exclusive title sponsor of the “YF Life ‧ Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion”.

Acclaimed as the "Olympics" of China's horticultural industry, the China Flower Expo (Flower Expo) is organized by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the China Flower Association and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is the largest, most comprehensive, and most influential national flower exhibition in China. This year's Flower Expo will be held from May 21 to July 2, covering an area of 10 square kilometers, with a layout design based on the concept of "one center, one axis, three zones, six pavilions, six gardens".

Mr. Zhang Ke, Chief Executive Officer of YF Life, attended the opening ceremony of the “YF Life ‧ Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion” today. He said, “The theme of this year’s Flower Expo is ‘Blossom with a China Dream’ and devotes special attention to ecological conservation, commitment to perfection, commitment to technological innovation, and commitment to free expression with no restrictions. The event reflects the concept of innovation and digitalization, which echoes YF Life’s brand characteristics and pursuits. YF Life is honored to act as the exclusive title sponsor of the ‘YF Life ‧ Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion’ at the Flower Expo, contributing to a brilliantly staged and memorable event with vivid colours for the public to enjoy.”

The “YF Life ‧ Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion” is the perfect integration of “ikebana” art with “light and shadow” modern technology. The “ikebana” element is designed by Yoko Yoshimoto, a renowned ikebana artist in China and Japan. The 10-metre-long masterpiece “Vermilion Summer” presents a harmonious blend of beauty and strength. The “light and shadow” element named “Floral Feast” is the work of JIILM director Jii Zhang, who uses cinematographic techniques to illustrate the themes of dancing clouds, four seasons, colours, renewal, and time. Through the mixing of both the Eastern and Western languages of art, the work represents an inspiration to the visitors. The “YF Life ‧ Light and Shadow Ikebana Japan Pavilion” celebrates the individuality and beauty of flowers, surrounding the visitors with an elegant atmosphere that transcends the flower-appreciation experience. The pavilion also offers an instant digital photography zone, allowing visitors to capture the magical experience and take it home.

Mr. Zhang Ke continued, “‘Flower-appreciation’ and ‘insurance’ share a similar philosophy. Like flower-appreciation, we have to seize the opportunity to take out the protection we need when our health condition is good. If we miss the opportunity, we will not get the protection we need if or when our health deteriorates, and then we might even lose the chance to take out the insurance that we need. Similarly, if we want to enjoy financial freedom in the future, we have to plan ahead and start wealth management at an early stage, accumulating wealth over a long period of time, in order to achieve the desired retirement we choose to have, and even passing down our fortune to the next generation.”
